This handbook is designed to acquaint primary and secondary school teachers with the history of Tai Kwun, its relationship with the development of Hong Kong, and how the revitalisation of Tai Kwun demonstrates best practice for Hong Kong’s heritage conservation and management. This handbook also suggests extended learning activities to deepen students’ understanding of Hong Kong’s conservation policies, as well as the importance of a balance between heritage conservation and sustainable urban development.
